Welcome to Ocean Shores
Kindly note that the entire Cape Town area is currently under severe water restrictions. At some times water usage will be limited and all swimming pools will be closed for the duration of the water restrictions.

The resort is close to many local shops and restaurants, including well-known ones like Blue Peter and Ons Huisie. What’s more, it’s only 12km from Canal Walk Shopping Centre, 18km from V&A Waterfront and a short 5 minute walk from Bloubergstrand.
Enjoy water sports at Big Bay Beach
With long stretches of glittering silver sand, the main beach in Blouberg, Big Bay Beach, is famous for its water sports, which include surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing. Two rocky points extend outward into the ocean creating a small bay, which means that – even though the water is notoriously cold – it’s a fun and safe place for swimming or bodysurfing.
If you’ve never surfed before, it’s a good place to learn. The Cape Town Surf School offers lessons for beginners and their rates include board and wetsuit hire.
Thanks to the strong south-easterly winds that hit the area, Blouberg is a kitesurfing mecca attracting fans of the sport from all over the world. With 10 to 30 knot winds and a spectacular view of Table Mountain, Dolphin Beach is wide and spacious, making it the perfect place to launch a kite. As a famous kitesurfing location, international contests are held at Big Bay Beach every year. Blouberg is home to a number of kitesurfing instructors and schools and the conditions are perfect for beginners and advanced kite surfers alike.
For those who’d rather enjoy the view than the water, Blouberg’s beaches are perfect for tanning, walks and family time in the sun. Blouberg’s beaches are known for their unique beauty – especially because their views of Table Mountain and Robben Island are unparalleled.
